A lovely large Mdina vase, from Malta. Probably a design originally by Michael Harris. Signed 'Mdina' on the base.

It's a late 1960s or early 1970s tortoiseshell pattern - with tones of swirly speckled golden brown/caramel with darker browns. Rim is large and flared, and the narrow neck would hold just a few stems. Textured/ribbed bottom half. Some of the glass is iridescent, there's a splash of 'sea and sand' too, see photos. There's lots of deliberate bubbles - it's a fascinating artist-made unique piece.

Excellent condition. 12cm high, rim is 9.5cm wide. Base/body is 12.5cm wide. A chunky 740g.

Striking, quality and hand made. Perfect for a mid century sideboard and for a collector!
