A beautiful and extra large art glass shallow dish or ashtray or candle holder - Riite designed by Timo Sarpaneva in the mid 1960s. Model number 2611.
This example maintains its original vintage triangular iittala sticker. These came in various sizes, and this is the largest and hardest to find at 24cm wide. Ice textured base with smooth uppers, internally its flat and round - perfectly suited as a candle holder for a bunch of pillar or tealight candles. Bright clear crystal content glass - very heavy at just under 3kg. Circa 1970s.
It's very similar to the Visa design and comes from the same time, but the rim is wider and flatter. 
Very good condition. A couple of large natural bubbles and a speck of ash within, and a few minimal signs of age. One fleebite, but the dish is so big and striking you won't find it. The rust mark showing on the photos has now been removed.
24cm x 4.3cm. Internally 16cm wide, smooth rounded rim is about 4cm wide.
