A lovely and rather large Digsmed Design (Denmark) teak fruit bowl. From that mid century 1960s/1970s era (Digsmed was in production until 1975). It's a big centrepiece size...
The round solid teak bowl has a rounded outer wall with feature concave rim. It's made from carved/turned blocks of teak, see photos, and is stamped to the base; It's model number 210 or 218.
30.5cm widest x 12.5cm high. Inner rim is 23cm wide - internally it is flat. It weighs 1.9kg.
Good condition for the age - it dates exactly from 1972. The wood is good, it has been lightly re-oiled so is bright and reddy with a slight natural sheen (food safe Danish oil). Internally there is a darker stain, and the rim is slighter lighter in tone from slight water marks. I'd give it a 8/10 for condition, there are a few signs of use and age - please see all photos. Not suitable for use for serving wet foods, it's more a statement home decor item.
