A huge XXL 15" 6kg colourful and heavy mid century Murano sommerso Venetian art glass vase. This twisted stripe design is attributed to Flavio Poli, but without a label it's impossible to confirm the artist or the factory. 
It's a statement sized 37cm tall with the lower half all solid twisted glass, and a pulled 'beak' oval rim. The inner is cranberry pink with two dark teal blue/green side stripes, and a twisted stripe of green and yellow, all extending down and twisting, with a cyan blue curl in the base, all cased in clear. It has the correct flat polished base for vintage 1960s Murano, and is typical of quality Venetian art glass from the era. Hand made/blown by an artist. I've seen this design referred to as by C.O.V.E.M., Cooperativa Vetrai Muranesi, but there's no history of this company online (please google for other examples).
It's in very good displayable condition with no chips. On close inspection, there's a couple of surface marks, but given its size it looks great. I'd give it a 8.5/10 - a very decent example. Flat polished base shows the correct signs of age. Would hold a decent bunch of flower stems if used (it's 20cm deep inside), but this is more for display and for a collector and as a centrepiece. 
37cm tall x 15cm widest x 14cm deepest, weighs... well, it goes off my scales and I've had to order new ones to cope with such a monster! (Apx 6kg). This is a huge piece and would look amazing as a statement splash of colour on its own in a special space. Please see all photos.
