A striking Modernist silver-plated steel and perspex lidded box - perfect for jewellery or trinkets or money or pens etc. It was designed by Sigrid Kupetz and was intended as a 'serviette or napkin box'. Made by WMF Cromargan Germany and from the 'S-collection', it has the remnants of the maker's mark inside the base of the perspex box. Model no 5599-348. The folded steel lid is silver plated and has a mass of small round geometric circular patterns over - see photos. Modernist, mid-century and retro design, probably from the late 1960s or 1970s.
Good vintage condition, please see photos. The silver coated steel lid has some wear and is tarnished from age, especially around the edges. The silver plating has worn through in places. Full length hinge - works well and holds it open. The thick clear perspex box is good with no chips and some light scratches.
18.5 x 10.5 wide (including steel lid overlay) x 6.5cm tall.... the longer sized version.
Includes P&P to the UK.
