A striking smaller sized Modernist silver-plated steel and perspex lidded box - perfect for jewellery or trinkets or money etc. It was probably designed by Sigrid Kupetz and was intended as a 'cigarette box' (cigarette length and curved inner). Made by WMF Cromargan Germany and from the 'S-collection', it has the maker's mark inside the base of the perspex box and an original WMF red sticker to the base. The folded steel lid is silver plated and has a mass of rounded op-art geometric swirling patterns over - see photos. Modernist, mid-century and retro design, probably from the 1970s to 1980s. Very good condition, please see photos. The silver coated steel lid is good and shiny with not much wear. Full length hinge - works well. The thick clear perspex box is very good with no stress cracks or chips. 11.3 x 9cm wide (including steel lid overlay) x 4.5cm tall.... the shorter sized version. Includes P&P to the UK.
