A pair of super Rosenthal (Germany) white porcelain square pin dishes or small decorative plates, designed by Bele Bachen...
They're circa 1950s to 1960s vintage and are mid-century modern, Scandinavian and quirky/fun in style. Simple rounded square dishes with pastel coloured stylised prints, both depicting a lady picking pears. Bele Bachem (1916-2005) was a german graphic artist and worked at Rosenthal from 1951 I believe. Please look at the details and colours in her drawings.
The portrait image (left) is impressed to the back with model number 2113, and hand signed with a number of B59a, along with a 'Rosenthal Germany Kunstasteilling Sel B •V•' logo. The other image (right) is impressed to the back with a model number, and hand signed with a number of 4059G, along with a different 'Rosenthal Germany' logo. Although they depict the same imagery, they probably were produced in different years and are limited editions.
Unusually these are square - 11cm wide x 11cm tall x 1.8cm deep.
Very good condition with no chips or damage.
Free P&P to the UK. Price is for the pair.
