An adorable stylised hedgehog money box by Prima Pottery (PP), Folkestone, Kent, from the 1960s or 1970s or so.
Prima Pottery was started in 1967 by Marcus (Marc) Goldberger, and continued until the 1990s. This cute hedgehog is handmade with red clay and has sgraffito scratched spines, like a Briglin. He's glossy glazed in tones of duck egg blue with black and white with the deliberate exposed red clay spines. Cute white glazed face with holes for eyes and little pointy upturned nose. Stamped with the logos to the base, as well as hand signed 'Marc'. He has a slot to his back so he can be used as a money box (he's empty).
Apx 11.5 x 9.5 x 9.5cm. A lovely collectable example of a PP creature, very good condition.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
