A pair of Y2K Bodrul Khalique modernist figurines...
These black cast metal figurines were designed by British born Bodrul Khalique (1978-2013) in year 2000 for Ikea (Sweden) and are beautifully mid century modern in style. They are a pair of female ballet dancers. They're simplified, stylised and stretching, typical of the modernist and minimalist style. Black metal alloy, in a darkened cast bronze style, on square bases with felt underneath to protect the tabletop. 
Female with knee up: 27.5cm tall. Very good condition. Stretching female with arm up: 33cm tall. Very good condition too, with some scratches to the base.
A perfect pair for a mid-century interior or a contemporary minimalist black and white room.
