A retro 1970s Canadian ornamental dish by L&M Designs, Canada...
It's a triangular asymmetric shaped shallow dish with a hand-painted simplified Native Canadian/Inuit figurine. The painting is dusky blue with lighter blue and white, brown underneath. Red clay base with hand signed 'L&M Designs Canada' signature and original paper label. L&M was Luba and Mile Linhart who emigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia. They operated a pottery in both Lindsay and Gelert, Ontario, from 1972 to 1978.
14.5 x 10.5 x 2.7cm. Very good condition, the glazes are lightly textured so it's hard to tell if any dots of missing texture around the edges is part of the manufacturing - see all photos. No chips.
Perfect for display in a retro interior, on a teak sideboard or coffee table.
