An Iden Pottery unique art pottery lamp base, by Dennis Townsend. Handmade, and circa 1970s vintage. Typical style and decor of that era, much like nearby Rye Pottery and Cinque Ports Pottery. It's a curvy shape with good wide base for stability. The lower third has a stencil or wax relief pattern with a dark brown glossy grid pattern. Uppers are brown speckled with beige - all perfect for a neutral toned room. It has a cable hole to the back and a 15mm hole to the top - no light fittings are included, just this lovely ceramic base. It's stamped with the Iden pottery logo to the base, which was used from 1965 onwards. 12.5cm widest at the base, 18.5cm tall. Excellent - all as originally manufactured. Being handmade, it's unique with its deliberate glazes and finish. A lovely collectable example of retro British Studio Pottery - perfect for adapting for use (or use as a display vase with a single long feather). Price includes P&P to the UK.
