A pair of simple retro Hornsea Pottery tea and coffee taller storage containers. Using the HEIRLOOM shapes, the STRIPES range of coordinated ceramic kitchen and tableware featured thin vertical red, green, yellow, blue or brown lines on a white ground with the contents printed on the front. Designed by John Clappison and produced from 1984-1986. Made in England.
Cylindrical and minimalist with a fab pop 1980s vibe, they have simple pure red stripes on white, with the text both front and back. They're the taller version of the canister design. White pottery/ceramic, stamped to the base with the Hornsea logo. Apx 15cm tall including lid x 11.8cm wide - the same shapes and sizes as the 1970s canisters.
All in very good condition for the age with no chips or crazing. They display well, they're very clean and are fully functional with no smells. Please see photos - there's a few tiny specks of print missing, mostly to the 'coffee' names. The original wooden lids are good - the wood is blond and has a good finish. The internal rubber seals are original and sort-of work, although a bit aged - please see all photos.
All my prices include P&P. Price is for both, delivered via Royal Mail's Tracked 24.
