A off-one indoor planter, circa 1960s-1970s vintage. Handmade by an individual potter rather than a mass produced moulded studio piece. It's a large cylindrical round shape, with straight sides and four panels of 3D textured circles in a grid shape, with an incised outline around them. Rather brutalist, rustic and industrial in styling. It has the (hard to read) maker's mark to the base but I've not been able to ID this piece, see photos. Typical decor and colourings of the late mid century period, all very brown and retro. It's a sizeable heavy stoneware rough clay piece, weighing 1.7kg. A larger sized statement indoor plant pot holder: 16cm tall x 17.5cm wide. Would hold an inner pot of 16cm wide x 15cm tall. Very good condition with no chips or crazing. Being handmade, it's unique with its tiny green/black speckles and dots, and partially glazed rim. A lovely useable, collectable and displayable example of retro British Pottery. Price includes P&P to the UK.
