A striking and hard to find mid-century op-art vase, designed by Hermann Bongard for Figgjo Flint Norway (circa 1962-1968).
The glossy white rectangular block vase has geometric 3D patterns on each side, creating wonderful optic illusions and plays with light. It is stamped to the base - I think it's model number 1491. The top has a small round hole, making it more of a single stem statement bud vase (if used). Ceramic, white china clay or heavy porcelain type material.
16cm tall x 6.5 x 6.5cm. Very good condition for the age and era. The baseline is a bit rough, as shown, but I think this is from the moulding at manufacture.
Stylish, elegant, glossy bright white Modernist piece. Great for a modern minimalist or Mid-century home. It's stunning, and would sit perfectly with other West German op art vases!
Price includes P&P to the UK.
