A 1960s large funky bowl - 'Clupea' design by Turi Gramstad Oliver for Figgjo Flint, Norway. The pattern was created in the 1960s so circa 1960s vintage.
The Clupea design by Turi is based on herring fish (Clupea is latin for Herring). The ceramic has a screen-printed blue, teal blue, mustard yellow and black line abstract design, printed over white. The design looks hand-drawn/sketched and is typically retro Scandinavian. The bowl has integrated handles each side with holes to support cutlery. It's a large individual bowl (like a mini tureen) that tapers inwards; it would have come with a lid to keep your meal warm. Suited to serving soup, etc.
Stamped to the base of the dish with: "Turi-design. Clupea. Made in FF Norway".
In excellent useable and collectable condition, with no chips. Dish is 9cm tall x 11cm wide at the rim. 18cm long with handles.
It's a rare and hard to find design.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
