A 'fat lava' era sgraffito art pottery vase by Dumler & Breiden, West Germany...
It's a simple Modernist shape with a handle - a pitcher jug shape with narrow rim and and fat belly. Circa 1960s-1970s vintage. It has been incised with a pattern which has been brushed over with petrol blue and brick red bands of colour, brown handle and rim and highlights. Perfect for a neutral or petrol blue decor.
Stamped on base with '235/18', the model number and height. It has the Drumler & Breiden Hohr logo to the right, along with no '86'. It is also marked with 'Ges Gesch Handarbeit' for handmade and trade marked, and 'Germany'. This example also has 'Dee Cee' who was the British import company Desmond Cooper.
The pitcher jug vase is 18.5cm tall x 11cm widest, 2.8cm wide rim. Suitable to take a a few stems if used as a vase. Great displayable and collectable condition with no chips.
