A cool 1980s art glass ashtray, by Frank Thrower at Dartington Glass. It's model number FT320 from 1982, jokingly known as the 'Cig-Zag'. Unusually, this version has no cigarette slots to the upper rim, making it a rarity and more of a versatile small snacks or trinket dish/bowl.
It clear bright 24% crystal content glass. It's mouth blown, hand made using a mould. It's a square and shallow square shape with rounded thick tactile rim. The base has a chevron pattern impressed, adding interest and a bit of 1980s retro design. This maintains it's original gold sticker which dates it from about 1983.
10.3 x 10.3 x 3.3cm. Inner square area is 6.2 x 6.2 x 1.8cm. 750 grams - heavy for its size. Excellent example with no chips. Sticker to one side.
Perfect gift idea, especially for a Dartington collector.
