A striking 16" tall modernist silver-plated candle holder with central flower bowl by Berg, Denmark. Circa 1950s-1960s mid century. Simplified modernist and Scandinavian in style - a quality, nicely-made quality vintage item.
Silver plated metal with a very good silvery shine, the three holders are designed for standard tapered dinner candles (cups are 2.1cm wide). Minimalist design with round catchers and vertical tubular legs with bent foot detail, holding a central bowl with original glass flower frog for smaller posies. The frog is pressed glass, made in France and will hold water. Stamped underneath a holder with 'Silverplate Berg Denmark'.
Perfect statement for the dining table - the triangle shape is 19 x 19cm wide, 41cm tallest. Very good condition with great shine, not much use and no noticeable tarnishing or dark spots. The tallest holder has a wobble to the catcher/saucer, see all photos. Perfect for a mid century inspired home.
