A retro 1970s Canadian flying goose figurine by Blue Mountain Pottery - they specialised in retro animal figurines and ornaments, mostly sold as tourist ware, with their distinctive liquid glazes. This comes with its original vintage sales tag label - see photos.
Red clay base with a unique, trademarked glazing process known as 'reflowing decorating'. Two different liquid glazes, one light and one dark in colour, were applied. During the firing process the glazes would run, creating streaking patterns unique to each piece. This piece has the green and black glazes - with unique swirls and flowing, merging, marbled colours - and tones of duck-egg, dark green and jade. It's all very smooth, glossy, liquid and shiny. It's a typical late mid century stylised retro shape. 
A good sized ornament: 20cm long x 14cm tall x 16cm deep. Excellent condition with no signs of age. 
With Blue Mountain Pottery there are deliberate runs and patches in the glaze, all part of the appeal and all as intended - see photos. No maker's marks, apart from the label. Perfect for a retro or kitsch interior, on a teak sideboard or shelf.
