A striking tall and slim art glass vase, designed by Bo Borgstrom in the 1960s for Aseda, Sweden. Circa 60/s70s vintage. A 'bamboo' cylindrical shape vase with two slight hoops. It's a really vibrant luminous yellow/lime, like vaseline/uranium glass, but it has no glow under UV light. I have no idea how they made it! The yellow has some white/opal content in the lower area making it opaque above the clear casing. I believe they call this 'opalescent yellow' (p34 of 'Scandinavian Glass 1930-2000 Fire and Sea' book). Unusual and hard to find colouring. 24.5cm tall x 6cm wide rim (5.2cm wide cylinder). It has a wider rim with two slight rings in the middle, cased with clear glass at the solid slim base. Most likely mouth blown into a mould. Probably model number B5/81. Excellent condition for age/era. Some natural age to the base as you'd expect. Great example and stunning on display! No maker's marks - they all had stickers back in the day. Free P&P to the UK.
