An original complete vintage set of Viners 'Studio' cutlery - for six people...
A super Modernist design, they're designed by Gerald Benny, Des, RCA in the 1960s or so for Viners. This 44 piece set is circa 1970s to 1980s. All lightly bark textured on the handles. High quality stainless steel with shiny heads and satin backs (not on the knives - the knives have different backstamps and handle design). The forks are the three-prong version of the design. The set consists of:
A pair of large serving spoons, 21cm long.
Six soup spoons, 20.3cm long.
Six dessert spoons, 20.4cm long.
Six small tea or coffee spoons, 12.6cm long.
Six three-prong starter forks, 19.5cm long.
Six three-prong dinner forks, 20.2cm long.
Six starter knives, 20.3cm long.
Six dinner knives, 22.5cm long.
They're all in really good condition. Lovely and shiny. All stamped on the backs, they read 'Viners of Sheffield, England, Stainless Steel'. Very collectable - the silver/goldsmith Gerald Benney was influenced by Scandinavian minimalism, as you can tell from the simple retro design.
Includes P&P to the UK.
