A beautiful vintage porcelain lidded tureen made by Thomas (Rosenthal), Bavaria, West Germany.

Circa 1960s vintage, although it's hard to believe. The graphic design is called Pinwheel and is a based on a simplified mauve and vivid red tulip flower. I believe the design dates from 1965 and was designed by Richard Scharrer. The dish is a beautiful simple minimalist shape. Bright white glossy porcelain or fine bone china with a printed stylised flower each side, and matching red to the top of the lid. Stamped with the logo to the base.

Very good clean and usable and displayable condition with no chips or crazing. A slight fine scratch to the red lid which is hard to see. Photos show it from all sides. 21cm diameter wide, 25cm long with carry handles. Without lid it's 6.5cm tall. To top of lid it's apx 12cm tall.

Simple, stylish, elegant, bright white Modernist piece. Perfect for a modern or Mid-century home, or to go with other pieces from the range. It's a great retro design!

Price includes P&P to the UK.
