Beautiful mid century pair of USA Pyrex 'Early American' design round mixing bowls...
Designed by Philip Johnson, the design dates design from 1962 and was made until 1971, made in USA. The imagery depicts 1960s living with stylised household and kitchen items in gold leaf over a milk chocolate brown, over the white opal pyrex. There would have been four bowls in the mixing bowl set, these are the matching largest (no 444) and the second smallest (442). They sit neatly together in a nest, and they have a wider end to hold and narrower end, for pouring.
Largest bowl #444: 4 quart capacity. Apx 11cm tall, 33cm long, 26.5cm diameter.
Smaller bowl #442: 1.5 quart capacity. Apx 9cm tall, 23cm long, 19cm diameter.
Both excellent condition with hardly any signs of use and no chips. Clean and bright white internally, good vivid shiny print. The larger one has what looks like two small ink marks. On the smaller one, the print front and back is missing a patch on the grinder - a printing error from time of manufacture. Also see pics for condition. Stamped to their bases with the Pyrex logo with 'Made in the USA'.
Great examples!
Includes P&P to the UK.
