A pair of beautiful tactile Kosta Boda Snowballs - Scandinavian tealight candle holders / table centre pieces. Made in Sweden and circa 1970s-2000s vintage. I believe they're 24% lead crystal.
These are all different and handmade, so there are differing moulding marks, lines, bubbles. We have one which is more vintage with more random textured outsides, unsigned to the base, with a newer version of the design with the Kosta Boda logo etched to the smooth base. From different eras, so they may differ slightly. Both have lots of lovely icy undulations.
Both in very good condition with no noticeable flaws or chips. Very clean. Apx 7.5cm high x 9cm wide - so the middle size available. Heavy moulded crystal glass, weigh a hefty 1.4kg together. Suitable for a tealight candle or a small pillar candle (round central holes are apx 4.3cm wide).
Includes P&P to the UK. Price is for both and includes two tealight candles.

Created by Ann Wärff in 1973, the Snowball has become a classic Kosta Boda design. The snowball votive is crafted of thick, clear crystal with layers, creases, and bumps that give it a realistic look. Set a candle inside through the opening on top, and the light moves through the glass in all directions and angles. The effect is magical on an evening dining table, mantelpiece, or bar.
Kosta Boda (Sweden) says:
Snowball Votive
Skiing, sledding, snowball fights, then candlelight dinners with family and friends. Not surprisingly, many Kosta Boda products allude to weather and to the comforts of home. Our handmade Snowball Votive is a crystal lantern sparkling with warmth and magic winter light. Since its introduction in 1973, Snowball is our all-time bestselling product.
