A lovely Swedish art pottery vase by Alingsås Keramik, Sweden, model number 924. Circa late 1960s or 1970s Scandinavian vase, with narrow neck and impressed blocky geometric patterns. Dark black/brown matt surface with infilled glazed design. All deep browns - typical of the era and region. It's probably more suited as a single stem vase, for one statement stem.
It's stamped to the base with lots of information: 'Alingsas Keramik, 924, M-SK, 62 AK, Escol, Huskyvarna' and hand signed 'U Winblad'. 15.5cm tall x 8.5cm widest. Rim 3cm and inner neck is apx 1.5cm wide.
Very good vintage with no chips - as with all of these the matt clay is fragile, so if you look very closely you can see a few tiny dots to the surface, see photos.
Ideal for both a brutalist/modernist fan and in-fitting with a rustic country home.
