A super mid century art glass small sculpture vase by Timo Sarpaneva for iittala, Finland.
The Orchid/Orkidea 'vase' was designed in 1953 and is model number 3568. The freeform pointy shape has a small hole with a bubble encased within the solid glass. It is clear and handmade and mouth blown. Flat polished base with hand signed 'Timo Sarpaneva 3568'. Beautifully simple mid century Scandinavian design, circa 1960s mid century.
A small 5 1/4" or 13.3cm version of the design x 5cm wide. Very good condition. Just two fine surface marks that I can see. Microscopic roughness along the baseline from age, see pics.
