A fab retro vase by Scheurich Keramik, West Germany, dating from the 1960s/1970s 'fat lava' era.
This vintage pottery/ceramic vase is a muted steely blue with whiter random bubbly/frothy spots or splodges, and is glossy and smooth. It's a simple shape tapering in at the neck with wide shoulders - a typical vintage Scheurich shape. Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect for your teak sideboard and to add to a collection.
The shape is 523-18... 18 denoting 18cm tall (well, 18.3cm). 9cm wide max at the shoulders. Rim is 6cm wide. Stamped to the base. Ideal size for a dozen flowers and ideal to match with blue decor. Very good vintage condition. It has a scratch near the baseline, shown, and a couple of inner rim imperfections (a tiny fleabite and a natural rougher patch of brown glaze). No chips or cracks, 'sounds' correct and displays very well.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
