A retro dripping glaze handled vase by Scheurich Keramik, West Germany. This is the handled version of the 401 design, with the smart small round handle. Dating from the 'fat lava' 1960s/1970s era, this is a lovely coffee and cream bubbly colour, dripping over a matt dark forest green. The surface is molten/bubbly yet smooth and tactile. Glossy speckled dark brown inside.
The shape is 401-28... 28 denoting 28.5cm tall. 10cm widest near the base. Inner rim is about 5cm. Fully stamped to base. Perfect size for a long tall statement bunch of flowers. Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect for your sideboard and to add to a collection.
Very good condition with no chips or crazing. Some clumsier areas of glaze around the rim and handle and deliberate blobs and drips of molten glaze. A red spot to the glaze. Natural wear/age to the baseline underneath.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
