A retro sandy yellow-coloured pitcher vase by Scheurich Keramik, West Germany. This is the handled version of the 401 design, with the pretty small round handle. Dating from the 'fat lava' 1960s/1970s era, this is two tone - the upper is a matte dusky ochre yellow, over a glassy brown lower. The yellowy surface is textured and lightly bubbled and pitted, with speckles of a redder colour and fading with the brown. Glossy dark brown inside. 
The shape is 401-20... 20 denoting 20.5cm tall. 8cm widest near the base. Inner rim is about 4cm. Fully stamped to base. Perfect size for a bunch of flowers. Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect for your sideboard and to add to a collection.
