A lovely chunky and heavy pressed glass 'jardiniere' designed by Rudolf Jurnikl for Rudolfava Hut Glassworks in 1964. Likely to be late 1960 vintage, i's model no 13236. Clear glass, the surface is hobnail like with with a series of random pyramids to the sides - in a Brutalist style. This is the rectangular low long vase from the series of similar ranges. Designed to hold a flowers and stems as a wide vase, or as a planter for things like cacti. A decent size with wide softened rim, and very heavy - a statement for a window sill or mantelpiece. Stunning when it catches the light! A sizeable rectangular shape - 21.5cm x 11cm tall x 7.5cm deep. Weighs a chunky 2kg. Pressed moulded glass, so a few natural ripples and lines and bubbles from the moulding and finishing processes - one bottom left corner has ripples. Very good clean vintage condition; it has one rim chip as shown in the last photo, but that's all I can see - otherwise great. Price includes P&P to the UK.
