A Rosenthal (West German) vintage textured art glass 10" tall vase, 'Cascade' designed by Martin Freyer. It's quite a statement piece, and mouth blown and moulded like those from iittala or the other Scandinavian and British glass makers from the 1970s.
High quality German made, thick clear crystal content glass. Like cascading melting ice with hoops and undulations. Etched on the base with Rosenthal logo (very hard to see). It's from the Studio Linie range but not marked as such. Ideal as a solifleur vase, perfect for a large single statement stem.
Good condition. The flat polished rim has a neat round concave chip and two microscopic outer fleabites, otherwise all good. 25.5cm or 10" tall x 11cm wide max. Rim is 7cm wide, 5.5cm wide inner rim (quite thick glass). It's a taller one from the Cascade series (but not the tallest!).
Freyer was more known for his stunning op art ceramic vases.
