A super stylish vintage Robert Welch 'Candelabra 10 Branch'. Circa 1960s to 1980s. This candlestick is model number CD110, designed for ten Scandi-style thin tapered candles (slightly bigger than birthday candles). It is an original Robert Welch design from 1961, which was produced for twenty years or so, from the Camden Designs cast iron range. The range was distributed through Old Hall as Robert Welch Designs and later by Victor Castware, I believe. Robert Welch was known for his stainless steel and silver ranges for Old Hall, along with these modernist industrial-style cast iron pieces. Made from solid cast iron metal, dark browny red with a light sheen. It has five branches with ten small holes over measuring just 6mm wide each. It's small at just 7.5cm tall x 10cm long x 4.5cm wide at the base. No maker's marks. The colour is a terracotta or brick red. Very good condition with a few patches of loss of colour. Fully functional and an iconic design. Free P&P to the UK.
