A lovely 'fat lava' era vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, West Germany. Satin off-white glaze with lightly 3D relief design of oak leaves and branches all over. I say 'rare' as I haven't found another like it!
Nice simple mid century shaping, apx 1960s/1970s vintage. Glossy dark brown inner. Stamped on base with Carstens logo and 'W-Germa. 6083-23'. The 23 denotes 23cm tall. 12cm wide max, rim 9cm. A good medium size, suitable for a dozen tall statement stems.
It's in great condition. One insignificant baseline chip out of sight as you can see on the last photo.
