A striking modernist silver-plated wine bottle tray/plate or small shallow dish... The design is by Puiforcat, France, and is likely to be 1960s-1970s as it's very much in that mid century style. I can't find anything specific with regards to the designer and the name of the design. It's silver plated, probably over brass (silver coloured all over), with a mass of very fine different random and brutalist hammered and engraved patterns to the wide flat rim - see photos. Stamped with the logos and 'EP' for electro plated silver. Good vintage condition, please see photos. The silver plating is good and silvery. The silver has been previously over-enthusiastically buffed so has fine marks all over - but it may have been made like that. Nice thick quality metal by a renowned French company (now owned by Hermes). Round: 14cm diameter x 2cm tall. Inner flat area is 8.5cm wide. It's the perfect size for a wine bottle, as well as jewellery or trinkets or money, etc. Includes P&P to the UK.
