A super Portmeirion Pottery 'Variations' lidded ceramic casserole pot or vegetable tureen. Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis in 1964 and produced until 1968.
The Serif shape with straight sides, straight flared rim and stylised lid with high flat lid-lift. Overall about 17cm to the top of the lid, and 22.5cm wide. The pot is 10.5cm tall. The colours are a burnt orange, warm grey, and black. It's stamped to the base.
It's in very good clean and bright condition considering it's 55+ years. Not many signs of age or use. The pot has some small spots of discolouration along the rim with one shallow vintage chip (hard to see). No crazing or cracks.
In this lovely condition this is ideal for display in a collection rather than use.
