A super Portmeirion Pottery 'Phoenix' coffee pot. The gold bird design was by John Cuffley from the late 1960s and was in production until the early 1980s. The range was overseen by founder Susan Williams-Ellis. Phoenix was produced using the Cylinder shape as a limited range of coffee items. Satin black glaze with metallic gold stylised design to both sides. Tall and slim and cylinder shaped, with an original lid. Overall, 33cm to the top of the lid, and 8.5cm wide. The pot is 27.8cm tall and it's 21.5cm long from spout to end of handle. It's stamped to the base. It's in excellent unused condition with no chips or cracks or crazing. The satin black glaze and the gold print is very good and vivid with no scratches. The lid is excellent too. More a home decor item/prop than a functional item - though perfectly useable! Price includes P&P to the UK.
