A super Portmeirion Pottery 'Magic City' large arty dinner plate or ornamental plate. Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis in 1966 and produced until the early 1970s.
The geometric imagery depicts a montage of exotic middle-eastern inspired landscapes, dome-topped buildings, slender spires, and celebratory exploding fireworks.  Black with white, deep brick orange and teal over a white glaze. The ceramic plate is round with raised sides and is a larger dinner plate or platter at 26cm wide (18cm inner flat area).
It's in excellent clean bright condition considering it's 55+ years. No signs of age or use to the uppers - it has always been ornamental. No chips or discolouration, some normal fine crazing to the back. See photos.
In this fab condition this is ideal for display in a collection rather than use.
