A lovely 'Galaxy' vase, by Poole Pottery, England. Circa mid 1990s design, part of the more recent Living Glaze ranges. 'Galaxy' was characterised by a matte black glaze with splashes of firey-coloured dripping 'lava' spots. The design was by designer Janice Tchalenko and was produced around 1999. Although about 25 years old, you can clearly see the 1960s/1970s Poole Pottery techniques and colours in this piece, just like Delphis. It's matt black with random liquid drips/spots of deep orangey red, and contrasting white inside. Stamped to the base with 'Poole England', along with a decorator's mark. It's a mid-sized traditional baluster style vase, ideal for a good sized bunch of flowers. 21cm tall x 10.5cm widest, 7.5cm outer rim. Very good condition with no chips. The glazes are deliberately liquid and running as part of the decor. Being handmade no two of these are the same. Free P&P to the UK.
