A lovely over-sized statement Poole Pottery Aegean plate. It's Shape 82 - the long 44cm spear-shaped plate. Hand painted with a naive/folk inspired fish design, typical of the Aegean designs and colours. Circa 1970s vintage.
Freehand unique abstract painting - tones of speckled warm deep yellow, ochre, red within brown wax-resist style outlines of a fish. All painted over a white ceramic base. Logo and shape number are to the base.
Excellent condition with no chips or crazing and very displayable. (These are very often chipped and crazed). Very retro and typical of the 1970s, perfect as a wall plate!
