A lovely large matt black pottery vase, by Poole Pottery, England. Circa 1950s mid century and designed by Alfred Read. The 'Black Panther' pot is model number 716, I believe.
Looks to be wheel thrown with a super smooth outside. Stamped to the base with 'Poole England' but the mark is virtually gone. It's a good-sized wide and curvy vase, ideal for a good sized bunch of flowers if used. 20cm tall x 16cm widest, 10cm rim. 
Very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks or crazing. The glaze being matt black is susceptible to marks - this has a few small marks, shown.
