A fab pair of chunky heavy solid glass candlesticks. Circa 1960s to 1970s mid century vintage. Unknown maker and not signed - very much in a Dartington, Wedgwood, Whitefriars or Scandinavian/Holmegaard style. Nicely handmade (mouth blown) and high quality with polished pontil bases. Simple shaped, lightly flaring with rounded holes designed for standard tapered dinner candles. They're a pale smoky brown/grey colour - like Twilight - and very typical of the era. Both very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. A few small surface marks and some signs of age to the bases. Each is 8" or 20cm tall x 10cm wide at base. Inner rim of each holder is 2.7cm wide. Heavy - the pair weighs 1.6kg. Free P&P to the UK.
