A handmade mid-century style asymmetric tray by Trade Winds, New Zealand. It's made from Kohekohe wood - a native and highly valued beautiful hardwood similar to mahogany or teak. Circa 1960s-1980s vintage, hand carved, with an old 'New Zealand made' kiwi sticker to the reverse, along with the maker's stamps. The wood is a deep reddy brown hard wood. The dish is pear or avocado shaped with a wider flat rim to one side. It has been recently re-finished in teak oil so has a good sheen. Good condition with some small signs of use. There are two feint inner whiter marks, a slight fine crack to an end and some lighter small scuff marks along the edges from use and age. Please see all photos. A medium sized 36cm long x 20cm wide x 2.5cm tall (shallow). Ideal for display or use for trinkets. Free P&P within the UK via Royal Mail.
