A beautiful mid century Murano sommerso faceted rectangular art glass bowl, attributed to either Mandruzzato or Cesare Toso, Murano, Italy. Vintage 1960s/1970s design and skilfully handmade/mouth blown.
It's a turquoise blue inner rounded well, with a light blue floating later (sommerso), cased in clear glass. There are four cut polished sides, making it a rectangle block shape, with flat polished oval rim and flat polished base. It would have been a fancy ashtray back in the day.
It's 8.6cm wide x 7.5cm tall x 5.7cm deep, 720g. Excellent original and unrestored condition. It doesn't look to have been used and has no chips or nibbles. Good base with not much age/wear. Displayable, collectable and very well-looked after vintage art glass - perfect for a mid-century mantelpiece and a great gift for a collector.
