A fabulous faceted Murano art glass geode dish. Made in Murano, Italy, and circa 1960s/1970s mid century. Faceted cut-glass design attributed to Mandruzzato or Flavio Poli.
It's a round shape, mouth blown and handmade. It has a geode style wide and flat polished rim with a rounded red inner well. Twelve sided, with three rows of faceted outer angled sides skilfully polished flat (=36 sides). It's pure red internally (a deep rounded inner well), with an amber golden yellow sommerso layer, cased in clear glass. It would have been intended as a fancy ashtray back in the day, but today is an art glass collectable. Looks amazing in the sunshine and on display, sparkling and diamond-like!
A smaller: 10cm x 5cm tall. 2.5cm wide flat rim. Very good condition with no chips... if you look very closely there's a couple of tiny pin-prick marks, shown. Any other signs of age/use are just too small and insignificant. Flat polished base with minimal signs of age/wear.
You'll love it, it's a very nice original example that has been very well looked after and not restored.
Includes P&P to the UK. Perfect gift idea.
