A beautiful 1980s style black mother and child sculpture. With angular, stylised and exaggerated features she's very much in a Modernist style. Unknown maker with no maker's marks, unknown age/era.
The figurine depicts a mother and a baby/toddler. She's holding him up and over and shoulder, cheek to cheek, and the piece looks very caring, loving. She's wearing an Art Deco style long dress with kimono type sleeve, and has a bouffant bob. Matt black finish over a moulded fine white ceramic. 
18.5cm x 11.5cm wide x 8cm deep. A medium size, perfect for a mantelpiece or shelf. 
Excellent condition. She's lovely!
