A super retro multi-purpose melamine storage container by Mepal - Dutch design. Pure purple and circa 1970s vintage. Hard durable ABS plastic/melamine round box with lift-off lid. Simple cylinder design.
Base has the Mepal logo and model number 186. Mepal items are often 'Mepal Rosti' from when they joined with Danish group Rosti, this is probably from before that era. It feels like a piece of Crayonne design.
Very good vintage and clean condition, with some small signs of age to the plastic - see photos. Lids form a seal - the lid lifts off easily. Ideal for anything, including round cakes... 18.5cm wide x 8cm tall so would fit a Victoria Sponge of 17.5cm wide x 7cm tall.
