A lovely Mdina 'Crizzle' art glass squat vase, from Malta... The colouring is known as Sea and Sand (the colours were inspired by those perfect Mediterranean sandy beaches and turquoise coves), attributed to Michael Harris who worked in Malta in the late 1960s to early 1970s. This is probably from the early 1970s. It's a lush teal blue (dark turquoise blue/green) with random spiderwebs trails of sandy gold and specks of reddy brown; the pattern is cased in clear. It's a wide squashed ball shape with a narrow neck and wide flat rim. Being mouth blown/hand made, all these are different. Apx 9cm tall x 13cm wide. Inner neck is just 1.3cm wide and rim is 5cm. Weighs 915g - a decent short and wide chunk of vintage glass. Unsigned with flat polished base. Very good condition with a few hidden tiny surface marks. There may be natural bubbles and pattern/colour inconsistencies in the glass from time of manufacture. Price includes P&P.
