A beautiful Mdina art glass vase. The technique/design was down to Michael Harris in Malta from 1968 to 1972. This is using his colours and techniques, so circa early 1970s, possibly by Michael. Unsigned - which I'm lead to believe indicates an early Mdina piece.
Mediterranean sea-like - known as 'Sea and Sand'. The colouring is a vivid teal/turquoise blue with internal streaks and spots of gold and bubbles/swirls. All cased in clear glass, with random straps or trails to the lower two thirds of the outers. Mouth blown/hand made and cylinder shaped, different from every angle and unique. Flat polished base and thick rounded rim.
8.3cm wide x 18cm tall. Very good displayable condition with no visible damage. Base shows a few signs of age, and is unsigned. Any undulations, swirls, bubbles, spots, inclusions are part of the handmade nature and are deliberate and by the artist. Heavy and chunky at over 1kg.
Includes P&P to the UK.
