A chunky Knobbly low and wide candle holder or dish by Liskeard Glass, Cornwall, England. Designed in the 1970s by Jim Dyer, brother of Harry Dyer who was designing the more famous Knobbly vases at Whitefriars Glass. (Jim did also work at Whitefriars). The bowl/ashtray bears the distinctive LG stamp on the base.
It's very thick solid glass with a thick wide rim. It's all clear glass in a hexagonal shape. There are two rows of oval impressed knobbles or dimples on the outer surface. Handmade/mouth blown in the 1970s.
Very good condition for age and era. There are a few small surface marks and signs of age, mostly on the base and one lobe, but no chips. Great for display and use.
A perfect size for a tealight candle holder. 5cm tall x 12.5cm wide at widest point. Inner well is 5cm wide. Weighs 1kg. Tealight candle included.
