A Leo Bonassera top hat and gloves small vase or sculpture... Leo Bonassera made imaginative and out-there fun pottery. An Italian, he worked in the UK from the early 1960s. He started his own studio in Kensington in 1961, and in the late 1970s he moved to Rye, Sussex, and rented space from David Sharp at The Mint. These designs date from the late 1970s to early 1980s. This is stamped to the base with 'Bonassera Pottery 1980'. His designs were later copied - a huge compliment but something to look out for.
This is a moulded glazed ceramic of a formal traditional black top hat with off-white gloves draped over. 8.5cm tall x 11.2cm wide x 10cm deep. More sculptural for an 80s themed room than a practical vase.
Very good condition. Clean and functional. The gloves have natural fine crazing.
