A stunning and sizeable vintage 'Shark's Tooth' vase designed by Gunnar Nylund for Strombergshyttan, Sweden. It's model number B884 and 7.5" tall. It's the more unusual clear version of the design (with a hint of arctic blue).
The design dates from around 1955-1958 and is more commonly found with the caramel coloured inner core. A large and heavy solid chunk of glass - 18.5cm x 12.5 x 6.5cm, it weighs a very hefty 1.95kg. It's tactile and beautifully formed - handmade and mouth blown.
Great condition, displays very well and would look excellent in a collection. Unsigned, but with the shape and size and pontil it's undoubtedly a Shark's Tooth. Please see all photos.
